Azizie
In simple words, this work is a collection of different regions and periods of the east, including Ottoman, Iran, Greek and Arabia. However, I would prefer to describe the project with the usage of the sincerity and intimacy between the known makams and modes; and to avoid using such names relating to the borders, which can be limiting and misleading.
Demonstrating the intervals which are less known in the Iranian musical culture, with the usage of the known techniques of the tar accompanying other instruments with different cultural and regional backgrounds, in the most proper manner was the main goal which I followed in the production of this project.
. “Azizie” is a collaboration between Arash Badie and Panos Skouteris, next to the guest musicians of the project, Mahyar Tahmasbi and Zilan Hasret Yildiz

Eastward Project
Eastward is an official academic ensemble of Codarts University for the Arts, founded by Arash Badie, an Iranian tar player and composer. The band started its activities as a trio, presenting the compositions of Arash with the usage of eastern and western instrumentation, namely tar, piano, clarinet, double bass and percussion.
The Eastward’s repertoire comprises of original pieces which are set to a combination of different musical cultures, such as middle eastern, western harmony and musical forms. Eastward consists of professional musicians such as: Panos Skouteris, a Greek wind instrumentalist playing the Clarinet, Italian musician Orlando Cialli playing the piano, Emilio Maggiore, Italian multi-instrumentalist playing the double bass, and Rebal Korkmaz from Syria playing the percussion.
