Short Bio

Arash Badie is an Iranian multi-instrumentalist and composer who began his career in 2018 as a tar player and composer while studying Persian Instruments Performance at a Fine Art Educational Center in Iran. Growing up in a musical family, with his father being a skilled tar luthier, Arash was immersed in the essence of this instrument and the foundations of the Iranian musical system, the Dastgah. During his years of musical studies, one of the most significant experiences in his exploration of this music occurred under the mentorship of Hossein Alizadeh.

Currently based in the Netherlands, Arash continues to explore and expand his musical journey through collaborations and experimental projects while pursuing his education at Codarts University for the Arts, specializing in world and makam music under the supervision of Kudsi Erguner. Among his notable works is the duet album Azizie, a collaborative project with Panos Skouteris, which includes a Greek tour and recordings. Another significant milestone is his latest personal release, Nostalgia, created in collaboration with renowned artists Cenk Erdoğan and Mahyar Tahmasbi.

To elaborate more on his music, Arash seamlessly blends Eastern melodies with Western harmonies, presented in simple forms that highlight motifs and structures. His instrumental, multicultural, and new-age compositions narrate the story of his life, offering listeners a rich, emotive, and deeply personal musical experience.
